Hybrid & performance turbos

Hybrid turbochargers, built for your engine

A hybrid turbo is your turbocharger rebuilt with uprated compressor and turbine components — often billet wheels and modified housings — so it flows more air than standard. More power and torque, usable spool, every build specified and balanced to your target.

What we change

What makes a turbo a hybrid

Billet compressor wheel

A stronger, more efficient wheel — often billet — flows more air for more power, sized to your target.

Uprated turbine

A matched turbine wheel keeps the build driveable and spooling, balancing top-end gains with response.

Modified housings

Compressor and turbine housings machined to suit the larger wheels and the airflow you are after.

Balanced & tested

The rotating assembly is precision-balanced and checked — essential at the higher speeds a hybrid runs.

Stage 1 Compressor uprate Modest, OE-like spool Daily + light tuning
Stage 2 Compressor + turbine Strong mid-range & top end Fast road / track
Stage 3 Billet + housing work Maximum airflow Competition / big power

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What exactly is a hybrid turbocharger?

A hybrid turbo is your turbocharger rebuilt with uprated components — typically a larger or billet compressor wheel, an uprated turbine and modified housings — so it flows more air than standard. The result is more power and torque while keeping usable spool, because the build is sized to your specific engine rather than a generic upgrade.

How much power will a hybrid turbo add?

It depends on the engine, fuelling, supporting mods and the stage of build. A Stage 1 compressor uprate adds a useful margin with near-stock spool; Stage 2–3 builds with billet wheels and housing work flow significantly more. We size the build to a realistic target power for your setup and tell you what is achievable.

Will a hybrid turbo still spool like standard?

A well-specified hybrid keeps driveable spool because we match wheel sizing to your engine rather than fitting the biggest wheel possible. Go too large and spool suffers — which is exactly why the spec matters and why we ask about your goals before building.

Do I need other modifications to run a hybrid turbo?

Usually the turbo is one part of a package — fuelling, a remap and sometimes intercooling and exhaust need to suit the new airflow. We will tell you what your hybrid needs to deliver its potential safely, so you do not fit it and run lean.

Is the hybrid balanced and tested?

Yes. Every core is precision-balanced and checked before it leaves us — the same discipline as our reconditioning work. An unbalanced uprated turbo at high rpm fails fast, so this is non-negotiable.

Can you build a hybrid for my exact car?

Tell us the vehicle, engine, current mods and your power goal and we will specify a hybrid to suit — or advise if a reconditioned or new turbo is the better choice. Send details by WhatsApp, phone or the quote form.
