BMW 5 Series hybrid turbos

For the 5 Series we build hybrids on the 530d and 535d six-cylinder turbos, plus the 2.0 520d. A 530d hybrid keeps the single variable-geometry layout; on the 535d the hybrid is usually built on the large (low-pressure) turbo of the sequential system. Power targets and what the engine needs to support them are listed on each hybrid turbo page.

We list 19 hybrid turbos for the BMW 5 Series (E12, E28, F10, F07, F11, E39, E60 and E61), built 1979-2026. 1 of them is on the shelf now. Prices from £500 inc. VAT. They are grouped below by engine - 520d, 530d, 518d, 525d, 520i, 528i, 530e Plug-in Hybrid and 530i - with the power outputs and years each one fits.

A hybrid turbo keeps the original housing but gets upgraded internals - typically a larger or billet compressor wheel and a high-flow turbine - so it flows more air than standard. Hybrids on the shelf go out next day; others are built to order in our workshop in 2-3 weeks. A hybrid turbo is a performance part, not a turbo for a hybrid car.
